The launch of the first electric bus of National Transport Corporation (NTC) on Thursday 3 February 2022 by the Prime Minister, Mr. Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, marks the beginning of the company’s venture towards sustainable transportation.
The electric bus is in line with Government’s policy to encourage the use of renewable and clean energy so as to reduce the country’s dependence on fossil fuels, decrease gas emissions by 40% and achieve 60% of green energy mix by 2030.
